Dr. Rebecca Webster is a distinguished veterinarian with a wealth of experience in wildlife, zoo animals, and exotic pet medicine and surgery. Graduating from Murdoch University in 2006, Dr. Webster has dedicated her career to advancing the field of veterinary science, focusing on the conservation and health of a diverse range of animals.
Throughout her career, Dr. Webster has pursued advanced education, earning a Masters of Veterinary Science in Conservation Medicine in 2014 and a Masters of Veterinary Studies in Zoo Animal and Wildlife Health in 2018. In 2016 she obtained memberships by examination to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Medicine of Australiasian Wildlife Species. Her commitment to excellence led her to undertake a clinical residency at Wildbase, Massey University, and Wellington Zoo, where she honed her skills under the guidance of leading experts in the field.
Dr. Webster's dedication to wildlife conservation extends beyond clinical practice. As the Northern Territory Representative of the Wildlife Disease Association and a member of the Animal Ethics Committee at Charles Darwin University, she actively contributes to the protection and welfare of wildlife populations.
In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Dr. Webster has made significant contributions to research, with her Masters thesis focusing on the Epidemiology of Paranannizziopsis australasiensis in New Zealand Reptiles. Her work has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of this disease and enabled the continuation of conservation activities of Tuatara.
Despite her busy schedule, Dr. Webster finds joy in caring for her own animal and small human companions. She has two young boys, two dogs, five chickens, a bearded dragon, a green-cheeked conure, and a cockatiel.
